Air ambulance lands on Cheriton Recreation Ground in Folkestone

An air ambulance landed in a town park in the early hours of this morning.

Residents reported the emergency helicopter hovering over Church Road in Folkestone, before touching down at nearby Cheriton Recreation Ground.

Leon Reed, who lives in Church Road, shared a video of the chopper shortly after midnight.

“I think it was finding a field to land in,” he said.

“It went down to land and took off again. It went to a field called Cheriton Park about five minutes away.”

Another video shared on Folkestone Residents Group shows the helicopter landing in park, off Stanley Road, where it is understood to have remained for about half-an-hour.

Kent Air Ambulance has been asked for further information.
