A council has condemned suspected vandals after a skate part was reportedly set alight.
Police are investigating after CCTV showed two boys reportedly setting fire to a ramp in Capel Le Ferne, near Folkestone.
The skate park has now been closed due to health and safety concerns because of the damage caused by the flames yesterday evening.
Capel Le Ferne Parish Council issued a statement on Facebook, expressing their fury at the act.
A spokesman said: "Words fail us!
"These two youth have set a fire on the top of the middle skate ramp at the Park.
"The area is now out of use due to the vandalism – this action has been taken for Health & Safety reasons, until the damage ramp panels are replaced by the manufacturer."
Because of the fire, there is now reportedly a danger that anyone using the ramp could fall through the damaged surface.
The spokesman said: "Two panels on the top of the middle ramp have become dangerous and could cause a trip hazard.
"The top surfaces of the wood has been burnt away, so could cause that part to fall through.
"Please do not climb over and use the facilities, as dated/timed "warning" photos have been taken of the notices and chained gate in situ, for insurance purposes."
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating a report that a skating ramp near Lancaster Avenue, Capel-le-Ferne was set alight at around 6.15pm yesterday."
