Blaze hits three-storey home in Bonsor Road, Folkestone

Firefighters using breathing apparatus tackled a blaze which struck at a Folkestone home in the early hours of this morning.

Around 15 firefighters were called to fight the fire in a three-storey house in Bonsor Road from around 2.30am and also used hose reels and a covering jet to control the fire.

The blaze which caused damage to two floors of the property is believed to have been started when a candle fell over.

No-one needed to be rescued. There were reports of one woman in her sixties who had got out of the property.

No details are available of the damage to the property, and fire crews left just after 4.10am.
