Cash stolen from vending machine and photo booth at Folkestone Central station

A vending machine and a photo booth in the foyer of a train station was allegedly broken into this morning, with cash stolen.

The British Transport Police (BTP) were called to Folkestone Central Station at 4.42am where some glass had also been smashed.

The area has been taped off for several hours while inquiries continue.

A spokesman for the BTP said: "We were called at 4.42am this morning to reports that the vending machine and photo booth at Folkestone station had been broken into, and some glass smashed.

"It looks as though some money may have been taken – we’re at the scene now carrying out investigations."

This incident has not prevented rail users from boarding trains at the station.
