It is close to where the commemorative marchpast takes place this August 4, which will be attended by Prince Harry.

Viktoria, of Christchurch primary academy in Folkestone, beat 150 other entrants in a schools competition.
Shepway District Council had invited children from 28 of the area’s schools to take part.

Viktoria’s fellow pupils were at the unveiling along with Ann Berry, vice-chairman of the First World War commemoration charity Step Short.

She had chosen the winning entry and presented the youngster with her prize of a sketch pad and drawing set.

Also there was Cllr Malcolm Dearden, Shepway cabinet member for grounds maintenance.
He said: “This display is planted every summer to bring a splash of colour to the Leas.

"It is highly appropriate this year that Vikki’s poppy design has been chosen to coincide with the First World War centenary.”
