Chocolate thieves detained 12 days after stealing 30 large bars from Folkestone supermarket

Eagle-eyed officers detained two chocolate theives 12 days after they stole 30 large bars worth nearly £50 from a Folkestone supermarket.

A 30-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man from Folkestone took the chocolate from Tesco Express in Foord Road on Sunday, May 29.

The incident was caught on the store’s CCTV and was shown to officers after it had been reported.

On Thursday (June 10), officers were having a meeting in Guildhall Street and saw the two offenders walk past their window.

They were both quickly detained.

A police spokesman said: “The offence was resolved by community resolution, whereby the offenders were made to apologise to the shop and owner and were then banned from the shop.”
