Coastbound traffic on a busy stretch of motorway came to a halt after a crash this afternoon.

Motorists using the M20 between junction 11, the Stop 24 services and junction 12 at Folkestone queued for up to an hour just after 3pm.

Highways England's traffic alerts predicted delays of up to two hours, but traffic appears to be moving freely.

The police were pictured at the scene diverting traffic around the crash, which is understood to have involved three cars.

The police have been asked for a comment.
