Emergency services called to Bouverie Road West, in Folkestone, after a car collided with a wall and tree

A driver was rescued from his car last night after it crashed in Folkestone.

Police, ambulance, fire crews and the air ambulance team were all called to Bouverie Road West at around 11pm following the collision.

It is understood the car, a Mercedes C200, smashed into a wall and then hit a tree.

The driver, a man, was trapped in the vehicle and was cut out by firefighters.

He was taken to hospital by land ambulance, believed to be suffering with internal injuries.

The road was closed while the emergency services remained at the scene and was re-opened at 2am.

Fire crews were at the scene for around an hour and 20 minutes.
