Firefighters tackle blaze at derelict Cherry Pickets pub in Shaftesbury Avenue, Cheriton

Firefighters are tackling a big blaze at a derelict pub in Folkestone.

They were called to the Cherry Pickers pub in Shaftsbury Avenue, Cheriton, at around 11.20am.

Around 20 firefighters are at the scene. Six engines plus a height ladder are in attendance.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "Hose reel jets are being used to tackle the fire, the cause of which is currently unknown."
