A fire forced Folkestone Central station to close this afternoon.

Trains were not stopping in either direction at the station over lunchtime following a blaze earlier this morning.

Firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 1pm to deal with a fire in a relay room.

Trains are now fully operational and running as normal through the station.

However, the station's ticket office remains closed.
