Folkestone: Flat fire sparks emergency response

Firefighters were called to a flat in the west end of Folkestone today to put out a fire caused by electrics.

They were called at about 3.10pm to Sandgate Road, near Westbourne Gardens and used a dry powder extinguisher to get rid of the flames.

A KFRS spokesman said: "We isolated the board and we also ventilated the area and used a thermal imaging camera."

The blaze was described as "small" and the firefighters left just before 3.40pm.

There were no reports of any injuries.
