Folkestone man dies after being knocked down by Toyota Yaris in Hawkinge

A man knocked down by a car in Hawkinge has died in hospital, police said today.

The 66-year-old is believed to have been trying to cross the road when he was struck by a green Toyota Yaris on Friday.

He was taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital, where he died from his injuries yesterday.

Officers were called to Page Road at about 6.15pm after the man, who was from the Folkestone area, was hit.

Witnesses are urged to phone the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 79853, quoting 08-1349.
