Balaclava-wearing suspect tries to mug two men in Cheriton High Street, Folkestone

A manhunt has been launched for a balaclava-wearing would-be mugger after targeting two men in a high street.

The victims were reportedly approached in Cheriton High Street on Monday evening.

One of them was jogging along the road at about 8pm when a man is said to have approached him and aggressively demanded money.

The jogger refused and was able to get away from the suspect without issues.

The other incident was reported just five minutes later in the same place where a man in his 60s was walking down the street and was approached in a similar way.

The man refused and the suspect fled the scene.

Detectives are investigating the incident and have appealed for information from the public to help locate and track down the suspect.

He is described as being over 6ft tall, wearing blue jeans, a green jacket and wearing a black balaclava.
