Dover man Reece Woodall jailed for Folkestone burglary and possession of knife

A man has been locked up after committing a string of offences including burglary, carrying a knife and assaulting police.

Primarily, Reece Woodall was apprehended while cycling away from a burglary at Folkestone's The Range on November 18.

The 22-year-old had smashed a window at the Firs Lane branch, pilfering torches, spray cans, a DVD, a watch and vaping equipment.

When searched, officers found a fixed-blade knife in his jacket.

Woodall, of Douglas Road, Dover, was handed a two-year sentence at Canterbury Crown Court on May 27 after admitting to possession of a knife and burglary at a previous hearing.

Included in the sentence are terms for harassment, racially aggravated use of threatening or abusive words and assaulting a police officer.

In October 2019, he had repeatedly turned up uninvited at the home of a woman in Dover, causing her to fear for her safety.

On October 2 last year, he made racist comments to a security guard who had asked him to leave a shop in Dover and then assaulted police officers who arrested him for the offence.

PC Nicholas Holley, Kent Police's investigating officer, said: "Woodall committed a large number of offences in a short period of time, with seemingly little concern for the impact on others.

"I am pleased the case we put together has resulted in him being given an immediate jail sentence, which will see him taken off the streets of east Kent for many months."
