Man charged after money found in van in Folkestone bound for France

A man has been charged after police found thousands of pounds in a van.

Jetnor Lala was arrested after being stopped while trying to leave the country via Folkestone .

Officers searched the van at the outbound Channel tunnel terminal on Sunday afternoon.

During the search, they found and seized £35,000 in cash.

Lala, of Goldsmith Road, London, was charged yesterday with one count of possessing criminal property.

The 39-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court the following day.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on December 1.
