Man airlifted to hospital after fall inside The Samuel Peto Wetherspoons pub, Folkestone

A man was flown to hospital after he fell inside a Wetherspoons branch and suffered head injuries.

The incident happened at The Samuel Peto premises in Rendezvous Street in Folkestone.

The air ambulance landed near Marine Parade opposite the Grand Burstin Hotel and the man was flown to Kings College Hospital in London.

Ambulance service spokesman Rich Airey said: "I can confirm we were called at approximately 4.25pm on Friday to reports a person had suffered a fall in Wetherspoons in Rendezvous Street, Folkestone.

"Ambulance crews attended the scene and were joined by the air ambulance service.

"The patient was assessed and treated before being airlifted to hospital."

It is not known where in Wetherspoons the man fell, but an air ambulance report said the fall was "accidental" and the man had injuries to his head and chest.
