Motorcyclist killed in crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist from Kent died in a collision with a car in East Sussex.

The tragedy happened at about 6.15pm on Saturday on the A259, Marsh Road at Pevensey, near Eastbourne, about 100 metres east of Middle Bridge.

A Ford Mondeo being driven by a 74-year-old man from Newhaven, was in collision with a Kawasaki ZX900 motorcycle.

The car driver received minor injuries but the motorcyclist, a man from Folkestone, died at the scene. The victim has not yet been named.
