Election due to be called to fill Folkestone Town Council seat after Cllr Paul Marsh's death

Nominations are being called for a new Folkestone town councillor to take over the seat previously held by the late Cllr Paul Marsh.

The East Folkestone ward seat on Folkestone Town Council will be contested on Thursday, September 17 if enough nominations are received.

Papers can be collected from the Civic Centre in Castle Hill Avenue but must be returned by Thursday, August 20 at 4pm.

Cllr Marsh, whose political career in Shepway spanned 36 years, passed away on June 7.

He was a respected councillor from across the council chamber and colleagues, friends and family paid tribute to him.
