Police helicopter used to search for driver after car overturns in Dover Hill, Capel-le-Ferne

A police helicopter was used to try and find the driver of a car which crashed in Folkestone.

A Saab Vector overturned in Dover Hill, Capel-le-Ferne, at around 9.30pm on Friday.

Police officers found it on its roof and deployed a helicopter to search the area for the driver.

Police spokesman Jon Green said: “It is believed the driver left the scene and officers, who were assisted by the police helicopter, searched the local area.

“Inquiries are still ongoing to locate the driver.”

No other vehicle was involved in the accident and it is not known why the car overturned.

Fire crews were called to make the scene safe.
