Six more charged from Folkestone and Dover in Czech modern slavery investigation

Six more people are due in court next month as part of an ongoing probe into alleged trafficking and workforce slavery of Czech nationals in Kent.

Warrants were carried out at addresses in Lydd, Dover and Folkestone in the early hours of Wednesday, October 3.

It formed part of ongoing inquiries by officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

The Crown Prosecution Service has now authorised charges relating to human trafficking and modern slavery offences.

Angela Makulova, 26, of Tower Hill, Dover, Emil Rac (Senior), 58, of George Gurr Crescent, Folkestone and Emil Rac (Junior), 39, of Rendezvous Street, Folkestone are among those due in court.

Josef Musil, 41, of Castle Hill Road, Dover, Stefan Feco, 22, of Khartoum Square, Dover and Jiri Hozl, 29, of Castle Hill Road, Dover have also been charged.

Each of the six accused will appear before Folkestone magistrates on Wednesday, November 28.

A total of eight people have now been charged as part of the investigation after Petr Makula, 47, and his son Mario Makula, 25, were arrested at their home in Granville Street, Dover, in May.

They are also accused of human trafficking and modern slavery offences and are due to go on trial at Canterbury Crown Court in January.
