Crews wearing breathing apparatus used two main jets and a hose reel jet to put the fire out.

There were no reported injuries, but the cause is being treated as suspicious.

The site has been disused since Foxwood and Highview schools merged and the Beacon site opened on Park Farm Road.

The Beacon caters for 365 pupils aged 3-19 with complex needs, profound and severe learning difficulties, and physical and sensory impairment.

It was opened in 2016 and the merged schools moved to the new purpose-built £18 million venue.
