Services will be diverted via alternative routes where possible.

Southeastern staff are on site at Sandling to remove the obstruction from the line.

A tweet from the company says: "The power will need to be switched off for this to take place, and safety checks will then need to be carried out to make sure there hasn't been any damage caused before trains can run again."

Trains are still running in the opposite direction, from Ashford to Dover.
