The intruders were first spotted on the tracks near Folkestone Central station at around 9am.

Southeastern confirmed a line block was in place between the station and Dover Priory, meaning all services between the two stations were suspended.

Any trains that could be diverted did so, while replacement bus services ran between the two stations.

The line was reopened by about 11am and trains are running as scheduled.

It is not known whether or not the trespassers were located.
