A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said the boy was suffering from shock as well as pain to his ankle but it is now understood the youngster suffered minor injuries to his hip.

His mum, who did not want to be named, said her son was playing his Xbox with a friend when he climbed out of his bedroom window, hoisted himself onto a slanting roof and crossed onto a neighbour’s corrugated plastic roof when he fell through.

She said: “Luckily he only sustained minor injuries but as the property was vacant we could not get him out hence the fire service being called to help.

“He is obviously upset and hopefully learnt his lesson. As a parent I do not condone his behaviour and he will be suitably punished.

“The homeowner of the newly developed property has been contacted.”
