A20 reopens after serious crash

The A20 has reopened after a serious accident shut the road for more than 10 hours.

An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene and the London-bound carriageway was shut between the M25 and the A223, with queues stretching back at least four miles after the accident on Tuesday morning.

Other emergency services were also attended and motorists were forced to find alternative routes.

There is no information yet from police about any injuries.

Police spokesman James Walker said: "Police were called to Junction 3 of the London-bound carriageway of the A20 at 11.04am following a report of two separate road traffic collisions.
