A suspected arson attack destroyed two sheds and a classic car in Northfleet in the early hours of Friday morning

A classic car was destroyed in a suspected arson attack in Northfleet in the early hours of this morning.

The motor was being stored in a wooden shed in Dene Holm Road, which was set ablaze and destroyed alongside the vehicle at just after midnight.

An adjacent shed was also destroyed and Kent Fire and Rescue Service say the cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Two engines arrived at the scene at 12.35am, with crews equipped with breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera tackling the flames with compressed air foam, a main jet and a hose reel.

They left the scene at 1.20am.
