Attack leaves man with fractured skull

A MAN was left with a fractured skull after a gang of youths attacked him in an alleyway in Gravesend.

Residents in the area heard shouting and called the police. They found the 34-year-old crawling along the ground between Leander Drive and Latona Drive between 1.30am and 1.45am on Sunday.

Police say they now want to talk to a gang of boys aged about 16 or 17 years old who were seen running away from the alley at the time of the attack.

The victim was taken to Darent Valley Hospital where he was treated for a fractured skull. He has since been moved to Kings Hospital, London, for further treatment.

Det Insp Rachel Adams said: “I am very keen for anyone who may have witnessed this incident and can either give descriptions or the identity of the offenders to contact us immediately.”

Police say the teenagers were all wearing dark clothing apart from one who was wearing a white jumper or jacket.

Anyone with information should contact Gravesend police on 01474 331055 or Crimestoppers, free and confidentially, on 0800 555111.
