Appeal for witnesses to attempted Gravesend town centre mobile phone robbery

A teenage boy was targeted in a robbery as a man tried to steal his mobile phone.

Police are now appealing after the town centre incident in Gravesend on Valentine's Day.

The incident is said to taken place at the junction of The Grove and Milton Street at about 11pm when the suspect asked to borrow the victim's mobile to make a call.

When the boy asked for it back he threatened to assault him but after a short struggle left the scene without the device.

The suspect is described as black, in his 20s and approximately 5ft 11ins tall.

He was wearing a navy blue tracksuit at the time.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses or any drivers with dashcam footage of the incident, to come forward.
