Apprentices build sheds for youngsters at Cherry Orchard Primary Academy in Ebbsfleet Valley

Carpentry apprentices have built two sheds for youngsters to use as outdoor learning facilities.

The workers, who have been based at Redrow’s flagship housing development, Ebbsfleet Green, have constructed the buildings for pupils at nearby Cherry Orchard Primary Academy.

They spent two days making the sheds from entirely recycled wood.

Pupils at the school in Cherry Orchard, Castle Hill, Ebbsfleet Valley, will use them for outdoor learning experiences and will develop their reading and writing skills in the settings.

The apprentices are currently enrolled at MidKent College, Medway Campus.

Reception teacher at the school, Victoria Sherress, said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone, particularly the apprentices of course, who have provided us with a storage solution that can be independently accessed by the children allowing them to lead their own learning.”
