Clinker production ceased at the end of April 2008, meaning:

* All Lafarge activity ceases in South Ockendon clay quarry. End quarrying activity in Eastern Quarry

* Kilns shut down on Northfleet site six to seven days after quarrying activity ends, eliminating gaseous emissions and reducing dust emissions from the chimneys by 90 per cent

* Continue grinding activities potentially to the end of 2008

* Commence decommissioning and demolition programme

* Demolition planned to be completed by 2011. Works chimneys demolished by 2010
