Ebbsfleet have confirmed they need £50,000 to break even at the end of the season but reports they could go out of business are wide of the mark, according to club director Jessica McQueen.

It had been claimed they needed that amount of money to stop going under but Mrs McQueen, pictured, said there is nothing in the club’s statement last week which suggested their survival was under threat.

She said: "Our cash flow is a serious situation because if we don’t get it we will be over budget but the future of the club is not in doubt."

Poor gates have been a concern but Fleet attracted a four-figure crowd on Boxing Day for the 3-1 victory over Hayes & Yeading.

Mrs McQueen added: "Grimsby said last week they needed £500,000 before the end of the season, so we are not in such a bad place ourselves.

"Our statement was a good way of getting the message across to our fans and I was pleased with the attendance on Boxing Day."
