Firefighters were called to a kitchen blaze last night after a toaster was left too close to curtains.
Two fire engines were sent to Packham Road, Gravesend, just before 7.15pm.
No casualties were reported and crews left at 7.49pm.
A fire service spokesman said: "It is believed that the fire was caused when a toaster was placed too close to curtains, causing them to catch alight.
"Following this incident, crews are reminding the public to be mindful and not place items that could easily catch fire near hot appliances such as toasters and hobs."
