Ebbsfleet came home empty-handed against Forest Green on Friday, despite Paul Lorraine's first half opener in Blue Square Bet Premier.

Fleet skipper Lorraine (pictured) headed in Michael West's right-wing corner, just minutes after Jow Howe hit the woodwork for the visitors.

On-loan Bristol Rovers keeper Lance Cronin preserved the lead by denying Jamie Turley after Michael Uwezu's deflected effort came back off the woodwork.

Calum Willock was denied at the other end by Sam Russell while Ricky Shakes shot just wide as the visitors nearly went 2-0 up on the stroke of half-time.

It took Forest Green just two minutes to draw level after the break, Kieron Forbes firing home from the edge of the box.

Matt Taylor made it 2-1 just after the hour mark but the Fleet then had chances to level the scores.

West and Willock were denied in quick succession before the latter failed to convert another good opening late on.

Forest Green wrapped up the points in stoppage time when substitute Reece Styche finished beyond Cronin after the home side raced away on the break.
