Inquest to be held for George Buckley who died at Swanscombe Station

An inquest into the death of a teenager who died on a railway track is due to be held.

The body of the 15-year-old from Park Close, Gravesend, was found underneath a train which had come to a stop.

British Transport Police were called to the scene following reports someone had been hit at around 7.50pm that evening.

At the opening into the Northfleet Technology College pupil's death at the Archbishop's Palace, Maidstone, today it was confirmed that he died from multiple injuries and electrocution.

Following his death, his family paid tribute to him, saying: "He was caring, funny and full of life. He loved his family and adored his friends.

"We are all devastated by the death of our handsome boy George.

Flowers and candles were laid at the station in Swanscombe High Street and a JustGiving page was also set up.

The inquest is due to be held on Wednesday, January 29.
