Liam Daish hopes his Ebbsfleet United side can stay relaxed as they embark on their final month of the season in Blue Square Bet South.

The Fleet manager (pictured) has guided his team into the thick of a congested play-off race and knows any slip-up now could prove costly.

Last weekend the Fleet were held to a goalless draw by Bishop’s Stortford and they head into consecutive away games this week, at Basingstoke on Saturday and Staines on Tuesday, without a win from their last three matches.

Daish said: "It’s tight up there and other teams are in the same position as us and chasing a play-off place.

"The players by now know how to play and they just need to stay relaxed and calm.

"We’ve worked hard to get where we are and need to make sure we don’t undo all the good work and have something to show for it at the end of the season."

Both opponents this week sit around mid-table, with neither promotion or relegation issues on their radar.

The Fleet boss said: "We’ll go into the game knowing what we’ve got to do but the players need to remember they are playing for something instead of some teams who are playing for nothing and use it as our goal."

Derek Duncan picked up his 10th booking last weekend and misses Saturday’s game but Daish is banking on Ryan Blake coming back into the fold from injury.
