Want an idea of what to do this weekend?

  • Today -Movable Feasts, which grows produce with pupils from Northfleet School for Girls and people from Haig Gardens Social Education Centre in Gravesend, celebrates local food growing at Haig Gardens between 11am and 3pm with a 1940s themed party.There will be 40s music, homemade 40s food, wartime food tasting, wartime cakes and breads for sale, locally grown produce. Free entry.
  • On Saturday from11am until 10pm, Cascades Leisure Centre, Thong Lane, Gravesend, iscelebrating 25 years since opening its doors. As part of an Olympic year-on celebration, there will be a family fun day. There will be live music and headline bands will be playing on stage throughout the day. There will also be a balloon race, Punch & Judy, magic show, creepy crawlies, petting farm, trampolines, stalls, face painting, and go karts.

  • From 10am on Saturday at the Cyclopark on Wrotham Road, Gravesend, it's the Big Latch On - a record breaking attempt for synchronised breast feeding. The actual 'latch on' attempt is at 10.30am. Organisers say: "Come and meet other local breastfeeding families, make some new friends and maybe break a world record as well."

  • Switch is back for its second all day event of the summer. Held at the Riva Bar on West Street, the event runs from 1pm on Saturday through to 1am on Sunday. There will be a barbecue and the music styles are defected, oldschool, deep, progressive and electro house. For more information click here

  • On Sunday, between 9am and 1pm, Horton Kirby VIllage Hall on Horton Road will be holding a country food and craft market.

  • Gravesend Rugby Club on Donald Biggs Drive, off Milton Road will be the setting for a huge day of fun to raise money for the Stacey Mowle Appeal. It starts at 11.30am and runs until 7.45pm on Sunday. The rough timetable for the day is as follows:

  • 3.15pm Ryan Bennett Band
  • 4.15pm The Chaps
  • 5.15pm Take That Experience
  • 6.45pm Elvis Impersonator
  • 7.45pm Paul Cook Band
