Man charged with drink driving after vehicles damaged in Pelham Road, Gravesend on Saturday night

A man has been charged with drink driving after it was reported several vehicles were damaged in an accident in Gravesend on Saturday night.

Darryl Britton, 27, of St Mark’s Avenue, Northfleet faces a charge of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in Pelham Road.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 11.50pm to reports a vehicle had been in collision with a number of parked cars."

Firefighters were also called to make the road safe after a collision involving at least three vehicles.

A spokesman said: "Initial report was there were person’s trapped in the car but when crews arrived the occupants were out of the vehicle.

"Firefighters ensured the scene was safe before leaving at 12:10am."

Britton has been bailed to appear before a court on August 8.
