Ross Gee, 27, of Tylers Close, Northfleet, convicted of two charges of rape and one of assault

A Northfleet man, who denied two charges of rape and one of assault, has been unanimously convicted of all charges by a jury at Maidstone Crown Court.

Sentence on Ross Gee, 27, of Tyler Close, was adjourned for reports until the week beginning November 24. He was remanded in custody.

John Causer, prosecuting, said that at one stage Gee backed the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, into a corner.

“She pushed him away with her leg and accidentally caught him in the genital area. Gee says she kicked him there.

“He dragged her across the room, threw her to the floor and began abusing her."

Mr Causer said that Gee had sex with the woman and after that said he was sorry. "Gee knew it was submission and not consent.”

Mr Causer said the police went to Gee’s home and found him in the loft with a rope around his neck and his feet dangling down the hatch. He was persuaded to come down and was arrested.

He denied raping the woman and told police that the victim had been violent towards him. He said she initiated sex and had made a false complaint to the police that he had assaulted her.
