Man in his 60s attacked outside Tesco Express in Valley Drive, Gravesend

A man in his 60s is in a serious condition in hospital after being attacked outside a Tesco Express.

Paramedics were called to the supermarket in Valley Drive, Gravesend shortly after 2pm on Sunday.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Officers are keen to talk to witnesses who may have seen the incident and in particular anyone who may have witnessed two men arguing in the nearby area prior to the assault.

Investigators have arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of assault. He has been released on bail until July 6.
