Two knives and large quantities of drugs seized during police patrols in Gravesend town centre

A suspected drug dealer has been charged and another man arrested in connection with drugs and weapons offences.

Patrols in Terrace Street, Gravesend stopped a man who was behaving suspiciously last Monday (March 18).

A search led to the seizure of a lock knife and a quantity of class A and class B drugs.

A 40-year-old man was arrested and later released on bail until June, pending further enquiries.

Two days later officers stopped another man behaving suspiciously, in Milton Place, in Gravesend on March 20.

A search revealed a lock knife and a large number of deal bags containing class A drugs.

Christian Agwu, of no fixed address, was charged on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of a bladed weapon.

The 21-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on March 21, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He has since been remanded in custody to appear before Woolwich Crown Court on April 16.
