Police at Thamesgate Shopping Centre in Gravesend as man attacked and two arrested

A man was attacked during an altercation inside a shopping centre leading to two people being arrested.

Police were called to the incident at the Thamesgate Shopping Centre in Gravesend this afternoon.

Officers were called at 12.59pm to reports a man had been assaulted.

Witnesses spotted five police cars parked outside the entrance to the centre in Clive Road.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene after receiving injuries to his face.

A police spokesman said his injuries were not serious.

Tarlochan Singh, 54, of High Street, Snodland was arrested and charged with using threatening words or behaviour which was likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today.

A 54-year-old man from Rochester also arrested has been released without charge.
