Elan Santos Muir, of York Road, Gravesend appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court

A man has been convicted of assault after spraying a woman with a water gun.

Elan Santos Muir, of York Road, Gravesend, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court where he pleaded guilty to common assault, criminal damage and two counts of assaulting a police officer.

The court heard Muir "assaulted" the woman in St Alban's Close, Gravesend, by spraying her with liquid from a water pistol, on Thursday, August 17.

The following day, the 50-year-old attacked two police officers and damaged a police car in York Road.

Magistrates sentenced Muir to 120 days in prison, suspended for a year.

He was also ordered to stay at home between 7pm and 7am each day until Thursday, January 4, 2018.

Muir will also have to pay £500 in compensation, £85 court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
