A man is in hospital after a crash between a van and a motorbike this morning

Kent Police was called to the reported collision on the A2 London-bound at 7.25am.

The incident was between the junctions for Pepper Hill and Gravesend East.

A man was taken to a local hospital, his injuries are not thought to be serious.

It blocked a lane and traffic was stopped to move the vehicles onto the hard shoulder.

Traffic was queued back along the A2 and down the M2 close to Maidstone.

All lanes were re-opened by 7.42am but it took until 9am for the congestion to clear.
