Motorcyclist killed in crash on A2 after Bluewater junction

A motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on the A2 last night.

Police are seeking witnesses to the fatal collision on the London-bound carriageway of the A2 near Ebbsfleet at around 8pm.

The incident, involving a white Honda motorcycle and a red Peugeot 3008, happened between the junctions for Gravesend and Ebbsfleet.

Police officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended where the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries and are also urging witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.

Traffic was stopped and the road was closed overnight following the accident.

It finally reopened at about 6am today.
