A shop assistant is alleged to have tried to con a lottery winner out of a big payout by telling him he was only due £10.

Callum Crosier discovered his work syndicate had, in fact, scooped £79,887.

Imran Pervais, of Milton Road, Gravesend, appeared at Maidstone Crown Court and denied fraud by making a false representation.

The 26-year-old was working at Moores Convenience Stores in Mackenzie Way, Gravesend when the offence was allegedly committed on May 18 last year.

Pervais was granted unconditional bail until his trial, which will start after February 18.
