EastEnder Harry Reid aka Ben Mitchell visits fun day at Ye Olde Leather Bottel, Northfleet, Gravesend

EastEnder Harry Reid was a special guest at Ye Olde Leather Bottel for a fun day in aid of ellenor.

The Gravesend actor, who plays Ben Mitchell in the long-running soap, joined in during the evening last Saturday.

Landlady Janine Puttock was delighted to welcome him along to the pub in Dover Road, Northfleet, as she was aiming to bring in at least £1,000 for the hospice charity.

“We have a lot of locals here whose families have been helped by ellenor,” she said.

“At least once every six months we try to put on a fun day like this.

“We have a barbecue, stalls, a raffle, and a tombola all in the car park, and we get someone dressed up as Ellie the elephant.”

The charity is based in nearby Coldharbour Road and provides care and support for families facing terminal illness.

Monetary donations are always appreciated, as are old items to help stock the charity’s various shops in Kent.
