The customer, a man from Cobham, went to collect the pizza from the Perry Street branch after his preferred Pizza Hut restaurant in the Imperial Retail Park shut at 10pm.

He said: "It was my third time in seven years at that particular Pizza Hut and there's a reason I rarely go back.

"The first thing I noticed when I walked is was the fact that the staff weren't wearing uniform, they were in tracksuits and wearing trainers.

"Then after I said I was here to collect my order I could hear the girls in the back swearing and shouting about how much of a weird name I had and how it was an old man's name.

"I was livid, but then I looked through into the kitchen and saw they were making my pizza on top of a fridge, it was over hanging over the edge, I couldn't believe it.

"And if that wasn't bad enough the floor was filthy, the back door was open, and the bits of food and dirt on the floor were just flying all over the place."

The Perry Street Pizza Hut only has a food hygiene rating of three, and inspectors say it's food hygiene and safety is 'fair', structural compliance is 'fair' and the confidence in management is 'some'.

The customer added: "It's not the chain, it's just something to do with the Perry Street shop, the Pizza Hut by Asda is outstanding I couldn't fault it, the staff are nice and the food is great.

"It cost me £18 to buy a pizza that was prepared on a fridge.

"If I hadn't already paid for it then I would've refused to take it but in the end as soon as I got outside I just threw it in the bin, I couldn't bring myself to eat it."

It happened on Friday, March, 13 and the man rang the Pizza Hut customer service team and was offered a free pizza from the Perry Street takeaway due to his experience.

Nas, the manager of the Perry Street Pizza Hut, said: "All the staff here are nice to the customers.

"These complaints are not true. Our staff wear the hats and their uniform.

"When we are cleaning the sides and new orders come through we prepare the new orders on the clean top of the fridge.

"The floor is not dirty, it's not true, when it get's late at night we slow down with the cleaning."
