Teenagers robbed at knifepoint at a skatepark in Gravesend

Six teenagers have been robbed at knifepoint by two men in a skateboard park.

The group of teens were skateboarding and listening to music when they were approached by the pair, who appeared drunk.

The duo left but returned later to threaten the teens with a knife, assault them and rob them.

It took place in the skateboarding park off Ordnance Road, Gravesend, between 11pm and midnight on July 31. Police released the details today.

The senior investigating officer said it had been “terrifying” for the victims.

DS Sam Hudson-Gool, of Kent Police, said: “This attack in the dark in a deserted park was a terrifying experience for the victims and has left them very shaken.

“I am keen to hear from anybody with any information about this incident. No matter how significant the information seems, it could be extremely valuable for detectives working on the case.”

The men first approached the teenagers at about 11pm and asked for cigarettes. When they said they didn’t have any, they left.

At around midnight, the men approached the victims again. They forced them all to sit on the ledge of the skateboarding ramp and demanded their phones and wallets, threatening them with a knife.

One victim was punched in the face and another one was slapped. Another received a superficial cut to his arm.

The suspects then left the scene, walking down a pathway.

The first man is described as white, aged approximately 19 to 21, and of slim build. He was about 5ft 8ins and was wearing a black coat with the collar and hood up. Underneath, he wore a T-shirt, black trousers and black shoes.

The second suspect was also white and aged approximately 19 to 21. He was of slim build and about 5ft 10ins, wearing a black coat and black trousers.
