From 2pm, there was entertainment and a live music stage at the junction of New Road and the High Street with sets by West End star Leanne Jones and the Gifted Young Gravesham choir.

There were also performances by singer Ciaran O’Conner and No Limit Street Band followed by the 90s legends’ show at 4pm.

There was street entertainment throughout the afternoon with bands playing outside the market, a roaming animatronic bear, an elf on the shelf getting up to mischief, The Grinch and stilt walkers.

As darkness fell, the Mayor of Gravesham Cllr Gurdip Ram Bungar was joined by the cast of this year’s panto at The Woodville, Snow White, to switch the Christmas lights on.
