Traffic held on A2 after lorry and car crash on the cost-bound carriageway at Bean Interchange, near Bluewater Shopping Centre

Drivers faced long delays on the A2 after a crash involving a car and lorry.

Traffic in all four lanes of the coast-bound carriageway at the Bean Interchange, near Bluewater Shopping Centre, was held following the collision on the slip-road.

The incident happened at about 12.20pm, causing lengthy queues.

Congestion has since eased and traffic had returned to normal by 2pm.

Paramedics were initially contacted but were stood down as they were not required.

Highway officers were called to the scene, but police patrols were not needed.
